Color Your Heart Glow Walk/Run 5K

We're sorry to announce that this year's Color Your Heart Glow Walk/Run 5K has been forced to cancel due to ongoing challenges related to COVID-19 restrictions. Thank you for your continued support of Surry Medical Ministries.

Color Your Heart Glow Walk/Run 5K is a nighttime event for people of all ages and abilities to "get their GLOW on" and have fun supporting Surry Medical Ministries. We'll have an evening of black lights, glow sticks, neon, and DJ Ish and Ash playing the latest hits to keep you rocking all night! Our race features glow-in-the-dark long-sleeve t-shirts, custom awards for the overall and age group winners, Glow Fun photo ops and props for you and your friends, great food, music and a fun party atmosphere!

Kid's 1/2 Mile Fun Run -- FREE with registration. Youth t-shirts are available for purchase for $10 during sign-up. Additional shirts will not be available for purchase after March 5th.

Online registration ends March 17th at 6PM. In-person registration is available at Early Packet Pickup and Race Day Registration. Registration fees are non-refundable. Register by March 5th to be guaranteed your long-sleeved race t-shirt!

Our Course This is a primarily-flat out and back course that runs entirely along the Riverside Park portion of the Granite City Greenway.

Surry Medical Ministries is a local, private, non-profit agency that was started in 1993 by a group of medical professionals to address the primary care needs of people in our community who do not have health insurance nor qualify for government medical assistance. Since the doors opened 20 years ago, on Tuesday nights, volunteer doctors, dentists, pharmacists, nurses and clerical staff work to provide almost $20,000 worth of services. During each of the roughly 4 hours that the clinic is open per week, these professionals serve a standing-room only crowd of our neighbors on a first come-first serve basis.

The clinic survives by receiving less than 17% of its funding from the United Fund and the North Carolina Free Clinics Association. The 83+% remainder of the operational budget is provided through fundraising and donations, churches and individuals.
