INFORMATION:
Since 2011, The Lynchburg Area Veteran’s Council has hosted the area’s only fund raising program that honors our fallen military and first responder heroes, and provides support for those who are in need.
We want to thank our past partners and supporters for their assistance. In contrast to the past years where we were required to share our proceeds with a national organization, this year we have decided to keep it all local. We can proudly state that all net funds from registration, sponsors, and corporate donors will remain in our area.
On September 11, 2001 as thousands of American civilians were running from ground zero, many true Heroes emerged to help. These included first responders who rushed into burning buildings, boat captains lining up in lower Manhattan to rescue New Yorkers, and our military planes that deployed.
Now, our local Lynchburg volunteers have organized their annual 5K run and 1 mile walk to raise money for first responders or military veterans in need, and to Honor our local responders and military heroes who have fallen. And most importantly, to NEVER FORGET.
The Lynchburg Area Veteran’s Council is a non profit, 501(c) (3) organization that filters moneys to three local military institutions; The Vietnam Veterans of America (Chapter 196), The American Legion (Post 16), and the Military Order of the Purple Heart (1607). It is with great honor and privilege that our volunteers work all year to raise money and support our real Heroes. And now you can help as well. Sign up to run our 5K or the 1 mile fun.
REGISTRATION:
Online registration will remain available until the start of the race. Race day registration and race day pickup will take place at 1301 Greenview Dr. Lynchburg, VA 24504 starting at 1:45 PM until race start at 5:00 PM.
5K REGISTRATION:
- $25 through August 30, 2018
- $30 August 31 through September 8, 2018
- $35 Race Day Registration September 9, 2018
1 Mile REGISTRATION:
- $15 through August 30, 2018
- $20 August 31 through September 8, 2018
- $25 Race Day Registration September 9, 2018
PARKING:
Parking will be available at the Greenview Drive American Legion.
START/FINISH:
The race starts and finishes at the American Legion at 1301 Greenview Dr. Lynchburg, VA 24504

- Top 3 Male & Female in the following age groups:

Come by the American Legion and pick up your race items as early as 2:00pm.

Kilted Timing utilizes Jaguar Timing systems providing *LIVE* real time results and finish line photos to our participants. Results are updated throughout the race in real time and can be accessed at any time after crossing the finish line using any one of the following options:
