We are saddened that because of events beyond our control we are not allowed to have an in person Tide Run this year, however we are hosting a virtual run between August 8, 2020 and August 22, 2020. This virtual race proceeds will support the STPO drive this year which will be purchasing Maroon Tide masks for all faculty, staff, and students at the Galax Elementary School this fall. We appreciate your support and understand during these unusual times, and hope to see everyone in person for our Spring 2021 Tide Run.
WHAT IS A VIRTUAL RUN?
You can run the 5K or 10K anytime between August 8 and August 22 on any course of your choosing, even on a treadmill! Or you can run the original race course, which begins at the Galax trail head, 212 East Stuart Drive, Galax, VA near the Red Caboose, then follow along the beautiful Chestnut Creek. Runners will run out and back to a turnaround, depending on the distance, and return to the finish line at the trailhead. See the course map below.

Virtual 10K $25.00
Online registration for the virtual 5K/10K ends August 22, 2020 at 8:00 PM. Participants have between August 8 at 12:00 AM and August 22 at Midnight to run their race and upload results.

Participants must complete the event between these dates and post their time to Its Your Race . All participants that post their photo and time on the Galax Elementary STPO facebook page and use hashtag #galaxelementarystpo will be entered into a drawing for a free registration for next spring’s Tide Run 5K and 10K event. We hope to give away 2 entries into the 5K and 2 enteries into the 10K.
Get the Tide Run 5K/10K Virtual Race T-Shirt!
All participants in the virtual race will receive a long sleeve moisture wicking/dry fit t-shirt, which will be mailed out within 30 days of the close of the race on the 22nd of August.
AWARDS
Because participants can run different routes for either race, to make it fair for everyone there will be no awards or medals given for the virtual race.

Online registration ends August 22, 2020 at 8:00 PM. All registrants must run their virtual race by midnight on August 22nd. After that, finish time submissions will no longer be posted to the results.
